Versatile Usage and Installation
This Rheem add-on air conditioning system includes an Earth-Friendly outdoor unit and a cooling coil that is designed to be installed on a variety of gas or electric furnaces.
If you already have an existing furnace in place and wish to add cooling, these are the two major components required.
This system is compatible with the most furnace brands, depending on age. If you are adding this system to an existing furnace, simply use the measurements provided for the indoor coil and measure the width of your existing furnace to be sure it will fit properly.
Standard coil widths include the following:
Simply measure the width (side to side, not the depth from front to back) of your existing furnace. As long as it is close (within an inch or so) it will work.
Also, make sure the blower capacity of the existing furnace is suitable for use with the air conditioning system you select.
For example, each ton of cooling requires 400 cubic feet per minute (CFM) of blower capacity to provide adequate cooling flow.
Simply remove the front service door of your furnace and look for a “blower rating” or similar words. Most furnaces will provide a minimum of 1200 CFM (3 tons).
So a blower rating of 1600 CFM means your existing furnace can handle up to 4 tons of cooling. You will need a furnace blower capable of producing enough air flow to support your tonnage selection.
Remember, this rating should be listed on the existing furnace's nomenclature plate.
Be sure to check the physical dimensions of your selected cooling coil to ensure that it will properly fit your existing furnace.
If you can't locate this rating on your furnace, call us toll-free at 866-862-8922 and our Personal Advisers will be happy to check the model number of your existing furnace to determine its blower rating.
Unbeatable Features At An Unbeatable Price
Best of all, the high efficiency, 13 seer operation can reduce your cooling costs as much as 38% compared to the average 12 to 15 year old system. We're sure you'll find better ways to spend the savings without handing it over to the power company.
The Earthy-Friendly R-410a Refrigerant provides additional peace of mind because your new system won't harm the environment and meets the standards set by the federal government. The cost of service will potentially be reduced in the future as older refrigerants (R-22) are gradually phased out through federally legislated production limitations.
Industry Leading Quality
The quality of this air conditioning condenser is apparent the moment you remove the carton. The tough, protective cabinet features electrostatically applied paint that is then baked for long lasting good looks and protection.
Yard debris and severe weather are no match for this solid, durable cabinet, featuring a steel reinforced top for maximum strength.
The 13AJL series air conditioning models also feature a special sound-reducing package consisting of a PSC, 4 blade, 8-pole fan motor and discharge line muffler. The result? Quiet and smooth operation so you and your neighbors can rest easy.
Rheem uses only a heavy gauge copper and aluminum fin coil construction for maximum heat transfer and efficiency. This coil is designed to resist the elements and remain leak free year after year.
Rheem installs protective high and low pressure controls to prevent damage to the compressor from pressure extremes. Why settle for less than the absolute highest measure of protection for your new system?
This Rheem condenser is designed for ground level or rooftop mounting and is pre-charged with Earth-Friendly R-410a refrigerant.
Make An Investment In Savings With Efficient performance
The Rheem 13AJL series feature SEER ratings of 13+, making it an energy efficient choice for home comfort. Compared with a 15 year old system, you could save up to 38% on your energy bill.
Here's a savings example for a 3 ton system:
Annual operating costs for a 15 year old, 8 SEER system--$810.00*
Annual operating costs for a Rheem 13 SEER system---$504.00*
If you live in very warm climate your savings could be even greater.
SEER stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio. SEER gives an indication of the energy efficiency of the system. The higher the SEER, the more efficient the unit. And, the more efficient the unit, the lower your energy costs.
When you purchase a system with a high SEER, you'll use less energy to cool your house, resulting in lower electric bills. In many cases, these savings are enough to partially or fully offset the cost of the new equipment within a few years.
* Based on .10 cents average per Kilowatt Hour and 1800 annual operating hours
The Rheem 13AJL air conditioner operates at very low sound levels.

* This unit is not approved for mobile homes
Under the terms of all manufacturer's warranty and to comply with federal refrigerant handling laws, it is required that the system be checked, started up and signed-off on by a licensed air conditioning/heating contractor prior to use. Failure to comply with this provision will void all factory warranties. Keep a copy of the installation ticket for your records. Please ensure that all supply and return ductwork is properly sized and that a permit is obtained (where required). Always conform with applicable local and state codes. Electrical connections should only be made by a licensed electrical contractor. Unqualified persons should never attempt installation of this or any HVAC system.
The Rheem Corporation
Rheem Manufacturing Company was established in the mid-1920s when brothers Richard and Donald Rheem acquired a galvanizing plant in San Francisco, California. In the 1930's, Rheem began manufacturing water heaters, and by 1936 had coast to coast distribution.
During the 1940s and 1950s, the company increased its product line to include space heating units for homes, oil furnaces and air conditioners.
In 1959, Rheem acquired Ruud Manufacturing Company, a pioneer in the water heating industry with a well-regarded product line and a distribution network throughout North America.
In subsequent years, Rheem entered the heating and air conditioning market and expanded in the late 1960's and 1970's with the rapid growth of the central air conditioning industry.
In 1985, the company acquired Raypak, a leading producer of copper tube boilers used for swimming pool heating and commercial hot water supply and hydronic heating.
